Steering box lock kit; -.500"Offset; Townsend, A&E
It took us several years and numerous attempts to get rid of the good ole vise grips to lock the steering shaft in place. Preventing the steering shaft from moving is critical for accurate wheel alignment and toe. This simple design clamps to the frame rail and slides over a stainless steel shaft which is threaded onto the steering box u-joint. Once initially set, this tool brings the box back to "X" and prevents any movement. Very quick and easy to use. Two versions are currently available. Use the standard version for chassis with the steering box mounted "square" or parallel with the front clip rail. Use the offset version for chassis with the steering box mounted to the clip on an angle.
